Keep your Eyes and your Ears Open
My dad graduated from college in the early 1950’s on the GI bill, spent his whole career farming, and endured 13 years of teaching school to help pay the bills. I learned algebra from him while he was my home room teacher in seventh grade. Although a farmer at heart, he always had a love for science and learning that motivated me and gave me a great headstart on my career.
One of the most valuable things he taught me? “Keep your eyes and your ears open and you’ll learn something new every day.”
Dad turned 83 years old today – still reading and exploring and learning new things.
