Sun Rising on the Vancouver Olympics
I have spent the last couple of days with my Sun colleagues in Canada. Because of Sun’s position as supplier to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Sun Canada business cards and presentation templates are Olympics-themed. The back of each business card is shown below.

Comment by Jonathan Gershater on September 25, 2008 at 10:42 pmWelcome to Vancouver, a pretty city, though you arrived as the rain began. If I had known you were in town I would have introduced you in person my esteemed colleagues, Phil Walston, Dimitry Sirota and David Bickle of Layer 7 Technologies, whom I was visiting this week.
My new journey is exciting; say hi to the folks at Sun for me.
I look forward to seeing you in person and the blogosphere.
Jonathan
p.s. vis-a-vis your prior post bemoaning battery life, as I don’t wish to start a new comment, may I suggest you go low-tech?
Keep your laptop stowed during the flight and lose yourself to your thoughts in the precious free time we have these days. Or enjoy a good book. Use a wired ear piece for your phone. Costs a dollar or two and doesn’t fail mid-conversation.
At home we have one old fashioned phone that does not rely on electricity. During a recent power outage in the neighbourhood, we were the only ones amongst our neighbours that had telephone connectivity!
Jonathan:
I was actually in Toronto. Even those guys in the east can use the Toronto cards!
I would definitely like to visit Vancouver someday, however. I hear it is a lovely place.
Are you with Layer 7 now? I have been exchanging emails with Dimitry just this week.
Please drop me an email if you have a chance.
Thanks,
Mark
Comment by Mark Dixon on September 26, 2008 at 3:42 amI heard that these cards are being revammped or discontinued because the athletes are not wearing helmets and may be condoned by Sun. Nice card non the least.
